Phillips 66 is implementing a multi-year effort to improve the mechanical integrity program across all refining sites. Key aspects are IDMS standardization, systemization, circuitization, Corrosion Control Document (CCD), and Risk-Based Inspection (RBI). The Corrosion & Materials Engineer is responsible for assisting the project in delivering high-quality Corrosion Reviews of all refinery process units.
Position will be based in Houston, TX or at one of our US Phillips 66 Refinery locations.
Responsibilities May Include
Assist Corrosion & Materials Lead in delivering the project to all Phillips 66 refining sites.
Oversee all corrosion & materials aspects of implementation vendor work scope.
Work with Phillips 66 site teams to ensure all damage mechanisms are captured and appropriately assessed.
Responsible for review of project deliverables including systemization, circuitization, Corrosion Review, and RBI.
Ensure deliverables comply with Phillips 66 Required Standards and best practices.
Technical resource in analysis of data and damage mechanisms. Assist as needed to analyze data, calculate corrosion rates, and assess risk.
Conduct site visits to participate in Process Overview and Corrosion Review meetings.
Assist with developing foundational project documents.
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related Science
5 years or more of experience in refinery materials & corrosion engineering
Significant experience with damage mechanism and susceptibility assessments
Travel up to 50%
10 or more years of experience in refinery materials & corrosion engineering
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Metallurgical / Materials Engineering
Working knowledge of risk-based inspection (RBI), inspection data management systems (IDMS), and fixed equipment inspection and turnaround/maintenance work process
Working knowledge of equipment operation and refinery process operation
Ability to identify and proactively resolve issues that could negatively impact the progress of the project
